Although we are known as "The Little Pink Shop" (and it does look small from the outside) most people are actually suprised when they visit us for the first time. We pack a lot of gear into a relatively small space and offer a huge choice of wetsuits, bodyboards and surfboards, to buy and to hire. We do however have much more stock than we can display so last year we rented some extra space to keep it all in, our Little Pink Shop "Secret Warehouse". This services our Internet business and makes sure that The Little Pink Shop never runs out of the "goodies".
Here are the answers to a few FAQ's... (or perhaps... "Steve interviews himself")
Why is the The Little Pink Shop ...er, Pink?
Well it's lost on most people, that's for sure... it's about sweeping away stereotypes... Love and Respect for the Ocean is what unites us, the relationship that surfers have with the sea is blind to the constraints and prejudices of race, colour, creed or sexuality. When you surf you leave all that nonsense behind.. The 10' wave that is breaking on your head, pounding you into the sand, whilst trying to rip off your arms and legs doesn't care who or what you are.
That plus the "special offer" B&Q were having on pink paint about 15years ago.
Why is the The Little Pink Shop different to all the other shops selling surfboards?
Because we put a huge emphasis on the entry-level/intermediate market, we have all the products and we give good honest advice.
Because we are not too far up our own backsides to help anyone, from the most basic beginner to the most expert world travelling surfer.
Because we are a small independant down to earth business (since 1987) and not a corporate chain store.
Because we'll tell you the truth about it all....
Do you only sell Bic's and NSP then?
No, We stock the new generation more Eco-friendly Epoxy-Custom boards too, tougher and cheaper and less toxic than conventional fibreglass boards.
We also stock a carefully chosen selection of traditional fibreglass surfboards, including our own brand.
We also do package deals including leashes, bags and even wetsuits.
We also have excellent value Bodyboard deals.
Do you sell board bags, leashes and wax etc?
Yes and loads of other great stuff like soft-rax to put your new board onto your car, waterproof wallets and car seat covers, just to name a few.
Do you sell wetsuits, bodyboards etc?
Yes, a great selection of bodyboards (inc. our "own label" package deals). We have a huge selection of wetsuits for sale and are agents for several major brands. We also have all the other rubber stuff too.. thermal and lycra rashvests, boots, gloves, hats, hoods, leashes, fins...etc.etc.
Do you sell surfwear clothing?
We do stock an excellent selection of Bikini's and shorts plus a few T-shirts but we are not really a clothing shop. We specialise in the actual hardwear you need to go surfing... boards, suits, leashes, boots, gloves, hats etc.etc.
Didn't you used to sell a lot of VW stuff?
Yes we used to do lots of that back before Saltrock, Animal, Hullabaloo, Uncle Tom Cobley and all jumped on the VW Clothing bandwagon. Our stuff was innovative, creative and sought-after. If you've still got some... look after it, it will be collectable one day! We still have a large range of stickers and a few T-Shirts in the shop but otherwise lack of space and plagiarism have forced us to move on.
Do you do mail order?
Yes. Our Mail Order Dept is run from "The Secret Warehouse". This was at Chivenor but has now moved and is not generally open to the public. It's other function is to enable The Little Pink Shop to carry a huge choice of products and not run out!
Can I get advice on which board or suit to buy over the phone?

Do you hire boards and suits?
Yes, we have a large fleet of all types and sizes, from foam learners boards to custom. As we are open all year round we also rent winter wetsuits in mens, ladies and kids sizes (toddlers in summer thickness only!), for enquires and reservations... the tel. no. is 01271/890453. We also run a "Demo Fleet". These boards are perhaps not the sort of boards you would expect to find in hire... they are demonstators for the boards we sell so that potential customers can "Try before you Buy".
