| There is now a large choice of 'entry level' boards on the market,
all ideal purchases for first time buyers or people who wish to avoid the expense and
fragility of custom boards. We are somewhat unique as we have all 3 leading 'Entry Level' brands under the one roof, now all we have to do is to stop them fighting! We are now agents for NSP Surfboards/South Point Longboards, Bic and Circle One Composite Customs. Far as I know we are the only shop in the UK to have all 3 and not only do we sell them, we also hire them. |

These boards are not to be confused with the old moulded "pop-out" from years gone by. This is an entirely new product and the technology involved is state-of-the-art. Production is fully automated, the core is cloned from a 'master' thus eliminating the shaping process. This is followed by "glassing" using an enclosed sealed epoxy laminating process. The result is a strong lightweight board. Epoxy is much stronger than traditional fibreglass but it's toxicity has always limited it's use on manually made boards. With this process you can have light and strong construction! The board is not toxic when finished of course, but avoid swallowing it just in case. | Circle One are a small local company that first started manufacturing surfing equipment in the sixties. They have firmly grasped the 'epoxy revolution' with their own range of boards which look and feel more like a laquer finished custom. | ||||||||||||||||||
Hand shaped from EPS Styrofoam, vacuum laminated with PV (poly vinyl) for strength, 5mm Wooden stringer, epoxy and glass laminated then hand sanded. DFS fin and box system with anti-corrosion screws. Available in 3 colourways. Similar construction technique to the NSP/Southpoint range above but a less automated factory means that these boards are still largely hand made but with all the advantages of the modern strong and light epoxy materials. These boards are arriving in relatively small numbers supply is a bit erratic. They have a little more in them than the NSP/Southpoint boards and we aren't talking about volume... they are selling well.
