Take-Off Custom Epoxy Surfboards

These are hand made custom boards are made using the tougher Epoxy/Styrofoam technology. Up until now this type of board has been more expensive than traditional custom fiberglass but not any more... hence the reason we sold out the first batch pretty much in a week. Some of the boards below have sold whilst I have been putting together this stock list!

So what's the big deal with these Take-Off Surfboards?

A traditionally built mini-mal costs about £350.. and it's pretty fragile. You could buy an Epoxy version which is much stronger but costs even more, as much as £600.

Now you can buy the stronger Epoxy type board brand new for less than the cost of a traditional custom... much less. You could save as much as £100 over a traditional board and get the stronger epoxy board.

No they are not pop-outs...yes they are light,  they are fully hand made.

Numbers are very limited at the moment and we fully expect demand to outstrip supply. The first one out of the wrapper sold instantly yesterday! Come and check them out (if we've any left by the time you get here!). Sizes 5'8" to 9'1"

Croyde Bay Surfing "own logo" Softboards

There is a big demand for Softboards recently, particlarly for youngsters starting out. Softboards have traditionally been primarily aimed at Surf Schools and Hire outlets and the lack of competition in the market-place has meant that the boards are surprisingly expensive to buy new. Cheaper options have started to break that monopoly now but at the expense of reliabilty...these cheaper options have all featured a crumbly polystyrene core, until now....

These "own logo" boards come from the same factory that make our bodyboards, hence they have an unbreakable poly-ethlyne core. They also feature stiffer poly-ethlyne stringers invisible inside the board and a slick bottom with single fin. The fin also has a plastic mounting plate (not shown) which stops "fin-tilt" in the abusive "paddling on sand" surf lesson scenario and other "grounding" (damaging!) situations. INT "Californian" Softboards

Imported from California, these are the Daddy of all Softboards. Multi-layer construction techniques using all the best no-expense spared materials. Built to withstand the stresses of School and Hire use they actually surf very well and are fully capable of handling bigger and more powerful surf conditions. They feature a unbreakable poly-ethlyne core, slick bottom and a 3 fin thruster set-up. We are now using these in our hire fleet. They are imported from California to order only and we quite probably have the only new ones for sale currently in the UK. Branded "INT", we are referring to them as the "INT Californian Softboards".

Well NSP/Southpoint need little introduction... market leaders in the "Entry-Level" arena since their introduction to the UK three years ago... The boards are strong and durable with a full 3" of thickness giving plenty of float to hold you up until you learn to get lift from the planing.

We generally have continuous supply of all sizes and colour options, this year we also took most of last years unsold boards from the importers and therefore can offer more colour choices and cheaper prices by choosing 2004 models whilst these stocks last.

We also have a "mole" at the distributors so if anyone can get a "sold-out" board, we can!
